Underwriting criteria
Maximum age The mortgage term must not exceed the normal state retirement age of the highest wage earner at the time the application is made.
Minimum age Minimum age for all applicants is 18 years.
Mortgage term Mortgage terms available from 5 years to 30 years.
Sole practitioners We do not appoint sole practitioner solicitors or licensed conveyancers to our panel.
Credit history CCJ's, arrears history and top-up loans are NOT accepted or considered.
Let to Buy Applications where the existing property is not being sold and will be rented in order to assist with the new purchase will no longer be accepted.
Flats We do not accept all types of flats. Please contact us prior to any application in order to obtain approval.
Builders Gifted Deposits We do not accept Builders Gifted Deposits.
Non-traditional construction We do not lend on certain types of non-traditional construction. Please contact us prior to application in order to obtain approval.
Debt consolidation Remortgage applications with debt consolidation are restricted to a maximum 75% LTV and the level of debt being consolidated must not exceed either 10% of the total borrowing or £25,000.
Interest only Interest only applications will only be accepted where the borrower is able to provide evidence of their ability to clear the interest only debt as the end of the scheduled term.
