Sales & Marketing Executive

Reporting to the CEO the S&ME will be head office based with elements of travel around the UK. As a member of the senior leadership team, the S&ME will be accountable for formulating and delivering the mortgage and savings strategy. This will include providing strategic leadership and management to the Sales, Intermediary, Marketing and Retention teams, in addition to representing the Society in a senior capacity to identify business-winning opportunities and developing senior level relationships generating mortgage sales. This is a position for a hands-on sales leader with tenacity, drive and a proven record of success.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Developing profitable new business and achieving/exceeding the budgeted level of annual mortgage book growth
  • Developing new and enhancing existing working relationships with senior Intermediary contacts
  • Analysing existing and potential markets for new opportunities and competitive positioning
  • Working as a key member of the senior leadership team and being proactive in driving the business forward
  • Playing a key role in strategic and business planning activities
  • Recruiting, leading, motivating and training team members to meet the needs of the business
  • Delivering presentations and tenders up to Board level

The person

  • A high calibre and credible candidate who has demonstrable leadership ability and a strong track record of sales success in a progressive career gained within a financial services environment
  • A natural communicator with an inclusive and cooperative style, that builds support but does not compromise output, and one that develops credibility with all key stakeholders influencing through diplomacy
  • In-depth knowledge of the current regulatory environment as it relates to the mutual sector and extensive experience of the intermediary market, and mortgage and savings products
  • Ideally holding qualifications to degree level or similar, have appropriate professional qualifications in financial services and be able to demonstrate a suitable level of experience and ongoing professional development
