What is the interest rate?

Interest is calculated daily and paid annually on 31 December and on maturity.

£1,000 plus - 0.65% gross / AER fixed until 31 October 2018

Can Tipton & Coseley Building Society change the interest rate?

The interest rate on your account is fixed and will not be changed before the maturity date.

What would the estimated balance be at the end of the term?

The balance at the end of the fixed rate term on a deposit of £1,000 with an interest rate of 0.65% gross/AER (fixed) would be £1,006.51.

This estimation is an illustration only and assumes:

  • the account is opened on 31 October 2017; 
  • there are no additional deposits or withdrawals made; 
  • interest is paid back into the account;
  • the interest rate is fixed; and
  • interest is paid gross on 31 December and again on maturity.
How do I open and manage my account?

Only one account can be opened per customer. Once the account is opened, no transactions can be made on the account until maturity. Joint accounts can be opened.

The minimum opening deposit is £1,000 and the maximum amount that can be deposited per customer is £25,000.

Accounts can be opened at any of our branch offices, no appointment is necessary. If you can't get to a branch then you can open an account by post, send us your application form and a cheque for your opening deposit.

We can access credit reference agency databases which, in the majority of cases, allows us to prove your identity and address without the need for paper-based identification. However, if we do require further proof we will let you know. Please click here to see our list of acceptable identification.

We will contact you at least 14 days before your fixed rate period ends to give you details of your maturity options. If we do not hear from you before maturity, we will automatically rollover your account to another account from our savings range which may include a new Fixed Rate Savings account. When we write to you this will provide details of the account we intend to automatically rollover your maturity balance to.

Can I withdraw money?

No withdrawals are allowed until the end of the fixed rate term.
