Prudential Risk Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Prudential Risk Manager to join our Risk and Compliance team. In this role you will:

  • Prepare and present high-quality prudential risk analysis, assurance findings and recommendations to Executive and Board-level committees, supporting effective oversight, challenge and decision-making.

  • Provide oversight and challenge relating to ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan and Resolution Pack, Operational Resilience, Third- Party Risk Management, and key regulatory returns.
  • Review risk limits, Early Warning Indicators (EWIs) and Risk Policies in conjunction with first-line owners.
  • Act as a senior risk partner to Finance, Treasury, Lending and Operations supporting the embedding of robust prudential risk management across the Society.
  • Contribute to the design and prioritisation of the annual Risk and Compliance Plan, identifying areas requiring thematic review, deep-dive assurance or enhanced second-line oversight.
  • Undertake agreed second-line reviews and asset book deep dives, preparing reports for Executive and Board-level committees
  • Escalate material risks, control weaknesses, risk appetite breaches and emerging prudential concerns to the Chief Risk Officer and relevant governance committees.
  • Line manage and develop a direct report.
  • Lead the development and delivery of the Society’s Green Agenda, supporting the Society’s goal of becoming a lower-carbon business of the future while maintaining colleague engagement.

To be considered for this role you will:
