Test Lead

In this role you will support the delivery of our Digital Transformation programme, supporting our members to choose how they do business with us whether on online, in app and in our branches. Working across multiple teams to deliver testing services to deliver software quality using Structured Testing Methods and existing frameworks. This role will work with the business and partners to execute end to end testing both functional and non-functional to evidence quality releases to live.

In this role you will use your knowledge and experience to:

Lead testing capability within project delivery and BAU activities, shaping test strategy, test planning, co-ordination and test execution and defect management. 

Lead the adoption of a test culture within the Society developing our capability into a mature test function.

Provide monthly reporting on project progress, risks and issues to Programme Manager. 

Work with internal teams and third parties to deliver change efforts.

Create an environment of collaboration within the teams that allows for open dialogue on task assignments and productive solutions for resolving conflicts

To be considered you will need:

  • Advanced ISTQB certification
  • Experience of a test lead within a regulatory environment.
  • Experience of Mortgage and Savings processes.
  • Experience of setting up and maintaining test portal Jira / ADO for accuracy and completeness of reporting.
  • Experience of delivering complex projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Experience of Partner / 3rd Party Management with commercial and contractual acumen, understanding Partner best practice for delivery acceptance of solutions.
  • Experience in introducing a test culture to the Society, introducing standardise testing methodologies to business and IT.
  • Experience of defining KPI’s to monitor testing outcomes and drive efficiency to deliver change faster and to achieve quality standards.
  • Ensure test environments are set up and maintained properly
  • Track and manage defects and issues identified during testing and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution
  • Capability to shape test strategy and plans for functional testing, User Acceptance Testing and Operational Acceptance Testing and non-functional testing including performance, security, accessibility and compatibility.
  • Current or previous technical development experience including exposure to modern infrastructure Cloud, API’s, SaaS.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage people effectively
  • High level of verbal, written and numeric skills and must be computer literate. A sound knowledge of standard spreadsheet packages and project management systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Salary: £48,000 to £58,000 p.a. dependent on experience and qualifications
Location: Tipton, West Midlands
Hours: 35 per week

The Society is able to offer hybrid working, following successful completion of an initial probationary period, you would be able to work 2 to 3 days at home each week.
