Charitable Foundation awards six new grants
The Tipton & Coseley Charitable Foundation has issued nearly £7,000 in grants for six different projects across the region.

Among the recipients were The Mary Stevens Hospice, which will use its £2,500 donation to expand bereavement services for those experiencing the loss of a loved one.
Acorns Children’s Hospice received £1,000, ensuring 24 hours of care for one child at its Black Country hospice in Walsall.
The Family Support Service at BUDS (Better Understanding of Dementia for Sandwell) gets £700 to put towards a day trip to Stratford upon Avon for members and their carers, while Walsall Society for the Blind has £668 to purchase items for home resource kits offered to adults newly registered with sight loss.
Additional grants went to George Betts Primary Academy in Smethwick for parent and child enrichment activities (£1,360) and Queen Alexandra College in Harborne for student health and wellbeing (£500).
Our Charitable Foundation was established in 1999 and since then has donated over £285,000 to charities supporting health and education in the Black Country and surrounding areas.
A panel of trustees consisting of Society colleagues and representatives from the local community meet twice a year to review applications.
Charitable Foundation member Karen Head said: “For more than 25 years, we’ve been making a difference and bringing much-needed funds to a diverse range of charities.
“The Tipton plays an important part in the community, not just through the provision of savings and mortgages, but by helping causes that resonate with local people, including our customers and colleagues.”
