Happy landings as children wear red to learn about a vital cause

Pupils at an Oldbury school let their creativity fly to raise funds and awareness for our charity partner, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Moat Farm Juniors on Brookfields Road organised a Wear It Red day, donning their most colourful outfits and collecting £312 in donations.

Given our longstanding association with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, including our Midlands Air Ambulance Saver account, we agreed to match the school’s efforts and double their tally.

Moat Farm also enjoyed a visit from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s helicopter pod, a mobile unit where guests can sit on a real flight deck and see the specialist equipment used by Critical Care Paramedics.

Every year group took part, ensuring a memorable and enriching day for around 480 children.

Deputy Headteacher Liam Climpson said: “We’re proud of the children for the money they raised and it was a wonderful surprise when the Tipton offered to match our donation, increasing it to over £600.

“Our school is a big promoter of children’s rights and the right to health, so having the team from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity here was an ideal way to reinforce this.

“Children learned about the charity’s lifesaving work in helping those in difficulty and quickly recognised the positive impact their fundraising would have. For some, it may have also inspired them about possible career paths in the future.”

Annelle Rowlands, the Tipton’s Marketing Manager, added: “The school did an amazing job in getting behind Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and we were only too happy to give them an extra boost.

“Having partnered with the charity for several years, we know how reliant they are on public support in order to keep their services running and provide essential pre-hospital emergency care to whoever needs it.”

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity operate across a region spanning six counties, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, serving a growing population of approximately seven million people.

Wear It Red is their annual campaign supported by schools, businesses, community groups and individual fundraisers, with all proceeds helping to fund future air ambulance and critical care car missions.
