VIP visit for the Tipton’s Codsall branch
The Tipton’s newest branch has been given the seal of approval by a local MP.

Mike Wood, Conservative MP for Kingswinford and South Staffordshire, visited our building society in Codsall, which opened at The Square last November.
He met Branch Leader Karen Perkins and her team, toured the premises, and heard about the positive feedback received from customers. Mike also spoke with our Chief Executive Adam Evetts and Chief Customer Officer Richard Groom.
They discussed topics including cash ISAs and their importance to the building society sector, the housing market and challenges facing first time buyers, financial education in schools, and the Tipton’s ongoing programme of community engagement and fundraising activities.
Richard Groom said: “Codsall is off to a flying start. We’ve been made to feel welcome in the village and have set up more than 200 new savings accounts since opening.
“Customers are full of praise for our colleagues and many have told us how they like coming into the branch in person and still having a passbook, rather than only ever transacting online.
“It’s a genuine success story that we were delighted to share with Mike. We’ll certainly consider more branch openings in the future, especially if we can find similarly good locations.”
Mike Wood MP said: “At a time when access to local branches of building societies and banks has rapidly become a thing of the past for many of my residents in Kingswinford and South Staffordshire, the new Tipton branch in Codsall is a particularly welcome addition to the high street.
“It was excellent to hear first-hand how enthusiastic the team are about getting involved in the local community during my visit.”
Codsall is the Society’s fifth branch in the West Midlands, joining our existing locations in Tipton, Coseley, Sedgley and Bilston.
We’re pleased to be working with Mike Wood MP on arrangements for his annual Jobs, Skills & Apprenticeship Fair.
The Tipton are sponsoring the event, which takes place on Friday, 10 April from 1pm at Wombourne Civic Centre.
It will offer people of all ages who are looking for a new job, career or training opportunity the chance to meet with recruiters and training providers representing a broad range of sectors.
Entry is free and the careers fair finishes at 4pm. Full details are available on Mike’s website: https://www.mike4kss.com/events/mike-wood-mps-jobs-skills-apprenticeship-fair.
