The Tipton steps fore-ward as golf day sponsor
The Tipton’s Codsall branch recently played host to some familiar faces, welcoming stars from the Wolves Former Players Association (FPA).

On this occasion, however, football took a back seat. Instead, it was tees and clubs at the ready to celebrate the upcoming Wolves FPA Annual Golf Day.
The Tipton have agreed to be headline sponsor for this year’s event, taking place on Friday, 4 September at Oxley Park Golf Club in Wolverhampton. Enjoyed by former players and Wolves supporters, the golf day raises valuable funds to help support local charities.
John Richards, former Wolves striker and now club Vice President and Chairman of the Wolves FPA, said: “Our golf day, organised by Steve Daley with the support of the FPA committee, has become a really popular event in our calendar and is vital to our work.
“In recent years, that work has continued to grow and develop so that not only do we provide donations to many good causes, but also deliver a range of support to our former players.
“We are only a small committee, so the partnerships we are able to build with local businesses and other organisations are crucial, just like this one with the Tipton & Coseley Building Society. We are really appreciative of their support.”
The Tipton’s Head of Retail Harjit Singh added: “We are committed to delivering the best service and regularly giving back to others as a responsible, community-orientated business.
“We feel sure this link up between Wolves FPA and the Tipton will be successful, with the potential to grow further over time. It was a pleasure to welcome John, Steve and other Wolves legends to our branch and a treat for our customers too.”
Codsall is the Tipton’s newest branch, extending our network beyond the Black Country and into South Staffordshire. It operates a full service and has opened more than 400 customer savings accounts since launching last November.
The Wolves Former Players Association has been celebrating the heritage of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club since 1988, bringing together former players from every generation while supporting their wellbeing, strengthening lifelong friendships and raising funds for charities across the city.
