We put efforts into charity fundraising

Two Black Country charities have received a cash boost from our annual golf day.

Our golf day which raises funds for Beacon Centre and Compton Hospice is a key date in our fundraising calendar and was once again well supported with teams helping raise over £3,000. Our Charitable Foundation also contributed £2,500 to the fundraising coffers meaning Beacon Centre and Compton Hospice each received over £2,700.

Donna Gordon, partnership development manager at Beacon Centre, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Tipton and Coseley Building Society for raising this money for Beacon. As a local charity we are dependent on the support and generosity of our local supporters."

Simon Cater, corporate fundraiser at Compton Hospice, added: “We are very grateful for the continued support from the Tipton. This wonderful donation will enable us to provide 24 visits from a hospice at home nurse to a patient in their own home, providing care, advice and support during the day time."

Lee Judson, General Manager Sales and Marketing, concluded: "It's always a pleasure to donate cash to these two charities – we know how reliant they are for help and know how much good work they’ll be able to do across the region as a result.”

Beacon Centre in Sedgley provides support and advice to visually impaired people living across the Black Country. In the Black Country alone, there are over 36,000 people living with sight loss and this figure is set to double to some 72,000 by 2050.

Compton Hospice provides care and support for families living with incurable illnesses across Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley, Sandwell, South Staffordshire and East Shropshire.
