The balance after 12 months on an initial deposit of £1,000 with an interest rate of 4.51% gross / AER (variable) would be £1,045.10

The balance after 12 months on an initial deposit of £10,000 with an interest rate of 4.70% gross / AER (variable) would be £10,470.00

The balance after 12 months on an initial deposit of £25,000 with an interest rate of 4.70% gross / AER (variable) would be £26,175.00

These estimations are examples only and assumes:

  • there are no additional deposits or withdrawals made;
  • interest is paid gross and added to the account on 31 December; and
  • there is no change to the interest rate.

How do I open and manage my account?

The account is available for anyone aged 16 or over. 

You can open an account at any of our branches without an appointment or, through the post by sending us a completed application form with a cheque payable to yourself for your initial deposit. Application forms can be posted to you on request, collected in branch, or printed from our website

Joint accounts can be opened. Only one account can be opened per customer. 

The minimum amount to open this account £1,000. You must have at least £1,000 in the account to keep it open. Withdrawals taking the balance below £1,000 are only allowed on closure of your account, or the account will automatically be closed. The maximum amount that can be held in this account is £250,000 per account. 

You can add money to your account at any of our branches by cash or cheque, through the post by cheque, or by standing order. 

You can view your balance and recent transactions on the Tipton App, available in the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

Can I withdraw money?

You must give us 35 days' notice before any withdrawals are made, no early access is available. You can give notice to withdraw by letting us know via post, visiting one of our branches, calling us, or completing our online contact form

Withdrawals taking your balance below £10,000 and £25,000 will result in a lower rate of interest, as noted in the 'What is the interest rate?' section above.

No internal transfers, electronic transfers, direct debits, faster payments, or standing order withdrawals are available.

If you decide within 14 days of opening, that this isn't the right account for you, you can have your money back without charge. We’ll arrange to close the account and return your money to you or to transfer your funds to another of our savings accounts.

To open and operate your account with the Tipton App, you will need to choose a bank account as your nominated bank account. This means all deposits going into your 35 Day Notice account must come from this nominated bank account. All withdrawals must also be sent to this nominated account. 

The minimum amount to open this account is £1,000. You must have at least £1,000 in the account to keep it open. Withdrawals taking the balance below £1,000 will only be allowed when you are closing your account. Opening deposits must be made by electronic payment from your nominated bank account and must be sent within 14 days of opening your account, or the account will automatically be closed. The maximum amount that can be held in this account is £100,000 per account. 

You can add money to your account by electronic payment from your nominated bank account.

Can I withdraw money?
